In our busy daily lives, a moment for yourself is no unnecessary luxury. A warm bath with Himalayan bath salt is a simple way to unwind for a while. The pink crystal salt is popular in wellness rituals and spas around the world.

At HimalayaStyling you'll find pure Himalayan bath salt for your own bath ritual at home.

What is Himalayan bath salt?

Himalayan bath salt, also called pink Himalayan salt, is extracted from ancient salt layers in the Khewra salt mine in Pakistan. The pink colour comes from traces of minerals such as iron that occur naturally in the salt. Our bath salt is unprocessed and contains no perfumes, colourings or other additives.

Himalayan bath salt vs. Epsom salt

Both salts are often used in the bath, but their composition is different:

  • Epsom salt consists mainly of magnesium sulphate.
  • Himalayan bath salt is natural rock salt (sodium chloride) with traces of other minerals, unprocessed and without additives.

Why do people choose a bath with Himalayan bath salt?

1. A ritual of your own

A warm bath with pink salt crystals turns an ordinary bath into a conscious moment for yourself — after a busy workday or at the end of the week.

2. Pure and unprocessed

No perfume, no colourings: you decide yourself whether to add anything, such as a few drops of essential oil.

3. Beautiful to look at

The pink crystals look lovely in a glass jar on the bathroom shelf and complete the ritual.

How to use Himalayan bath salt

Full bathtub:

  1. Add 1–2 cups of Himalayan bath salt to warm water (about 37–39°C).
  2. Stir until the salt has fully dissolved.
  3. Take 20–30 minutes for yourself.

Tip: light a candle or put on some calm music for a real spa atmosphere at home.

Foot bath:

  • ½ cup of Himalayan bath salt in a basin of warm water
  • Soak for 15–20 minutes

DIY bath salt with essential oils

Make your own fragrant bath blend: mix 2 cups of Himalayan bath salt with a few drops of essential oil of your choice, for example lavender or eucalyptus. Store it in a closed glass jar.

Make your own salt scrub

You can also use Himalayan bath salt for a homemade scrub: mix the coarse salt with a splash of olive or coconut oil, gently massage it over the skin and rinse off with lukewarm water. Test on a small patch of skin first, and don't use it on damaged or irritated skin or on your face.

Our Himalayan bath salt has a grain size of 2–5 mm and is imported directly from Pakistan — pure, unprocessed and without additives. Prefer something else? Try our bath salt balls too.

Safety & precautions

  • Avoid hot baths if you have heart or blood pressure problems.
  • Consult a doctor if you have skin conditions or sensitive skin.
  • Don't stay in the bath too long; soaking in salt water for a long time can dry out the skin.

How often should you use Himalayan bath salt?

A bath with Himalayan bath salt is a lovely ritual for once or twice a week. We don't recommend daily use, as frequent soaking in salt water can dry out the skin. Afterwards you can apply your favourite body lotion.
